Why Don’t You Need to Submit Physical Works?

The reason why the International One Prizes uses online submission for entries in the Press Release One Prizes and Public Relations One Prizes competitions, instead of requiring physical submissions, is primarily based on the following key factors:

1. The Nature of PR Work and Evaluation Focus

The results in the field of Public Relations (PR) are non-physical; their core value lies in “influence,” “communication effectiveness,” “strategic planning,” and “content text.”

Press releases, PR strategies, media monitoring reports, and social sentiment analysis are inherently digital documents, data, and reports. The competition’s evaluation criteria (such as coverage rate, click-through rate, SEO effectiveness, social discussion volume, and quality of coverage) are all measured through electronic data and links. Physical submissions cannot clearly present these critical quantitative indicators.

2. Efficiency, Convenience, and Sustainability

Online submission allows entrants from all over the world to participate easily, free from geographical restrictions. Requiring physical submissions would incur high international shipping costs, increase the risk of document damage or loss. Online submission maintains a fixed format, which contributes to the standardization of the judging process. Digital files are easier to standardize, store, and circulate within the judging system. Judging panel members may be located in different regions, and they can conduct their review at any time and place. Paperless submission supports environmental sustainability, avoiding the need for mass printing, physical report production, and discs, aligning with modern corporate commitment to environmental protection and green offices.

3. Data Integrity and Multimedia Presentation

Digital formats can fully present the complete picture of online PR campaigns. The online submission system allows entrants to upload various file formats and more comprehensive digital files, such as: project texts, various types of proof documents, multimedia files, dynamic outcome presentations, and so on. Especially for the Press Release and PR Agency competitions, many successful PR activities involve online exposure, website interaction, social media engagement, or video dissemination. These dynamic results can be displayed more effectively through online links or videos.

4. Significant Reduction in Participation Cost and Time Saving

Shipping physical deliverables, especially for large or complex design products, usually incurs high transportation costs, as well as the expense of outputting all project deliverables. By adopting a fully digital submission process, we enable participants to avoid these extra fees, save competition time, and invest more resources into perfecting their entry.

In summary, online submission is utilized to better capture the digital, data-driven, and global nature of the PR field, ensuring the judging panel can evaluate the entries in the most efficient and comprehensive manner according to the competition’s core standards (such as content, execution, and impact).
