Discipline A011: Press Release Writing Competition

The Press Release Writing Competition is designed to discover and honor professionals in the global public relations field who possess outstanding narrative ability, strategic thinking, and news sense. This competition is not merely a test of writing skills; it is a comprehensive examination of whether a PR strategy can be efficiently converted into media action. The core evaluation standards for this competition transcend basic grammatical correctness, focusing instead on the following three major areas:

1. Newsworthiness and Novelty:

Assessing whether the press release topic possesses sufficient social relevance to stand out from the volume of information, and whether it proposes innovative perspectives or solutions.

2. Dissemination Efficiency and Strategy:

Examining whether the document clearly and precisely conveys the core information to the target media and audience. Successful releases must feature strong headline appeal, logical structure, and effective strategic planning tailored for specific markets.

3. Media Guidance and Credibility:

Evaluating the authenticity and authority of the press release content, and whether it can effectively guide media outlets to generate positive coverage, strengthen brand credibility, and ultimately achieve the intended commercial or public relations objectives.

Entrants are required to submit a complete press release document (usually with a word limit) along with an execution report (detailing the distribution strategy and media outcomes) for comprehensive review by the jury.

Discipline A012: Press Release Distribution Competition

The Press Release Distribution Competition focuses on the execution and ultimate effectiveness of PR strategies, aiming to honor PR experts and agencies capable of transforming text into tangible media exposure and market influence. This competition evaluates not only the quality of the press release content but places greater emphasis on media relations, publication results, and professional competence during the distribution phase. The primary evaluation standards for this competition revolve around “Communication Effectiveness,” primarily focusing on the following three key indicators:

1. Media Reach and Quality:

Assessing whether the press release successfully reached high-tier, high-authority mainstream media outlets. While quantity is important, media type, geographical coverage, and influence on the target audience are more critical metrics.

2. Search Engine Indexing Success and Traffic:

Examining whether the distribution strategy successfully utilized the press release to achieve high rankings and rapid indexing on major search engines like Baidu and Google, thereby generating valuable views and brand exposure.

3. Conversion and Impact Validation:

Evaluating the contribution of the distribution campaign to business objectives, such as website traffic growth, increased brand mentions, or changes in prospective client inquiries. Entrants must provide data and analytical reports to demonstrate the practical business value of the distribution activity.

Entrants are required to submit the original press release, the list of published media outlets, and a performance data report for the jury to verify the results of the strategic execution.

Discipline A03: Press Release Impact Competition

The “Press Release Impact” Competition aims to recognize experts who seamlessly integrate media public relations practices with modern digital marketing (SEO) strategies. The core philosophy of this competition is that a press release should not merely be about exposure; it must also serve as a quantifiable digital asset and a traffic gateway. We seek successful cases that effectively utilize press release distribution to generate substantial, high-quality Organic Search Traffic and influence the Search Trend for a company’s website. The evaluation standards for this competition are entirely centered on digital effectiveness, mainly focusing on the following three core indicators:

1. Keyword Search Trend:

Assessing the popularity of the company website’s brand keywords or product keywords on major search engines (e.g., Baidu, Google) after the press release distribution.

2. Traffic Growth and Quality:

Examining the click-through rate (CTR) and total visits the website received from the press release and related indexed pages during the distribution period and the subsequent 30 days, while analyzing quality metrics such as traffic duration and bounce rate.

3. Indexing Speed and Volume:

Evaluating the situation where the content, after being published by authoritative media, is rapidly and massively indexed by search engines—a prerequisite for generating traffic.

Entrants must submit a detailed SEO strategy explanation, data screenshots from Google Analytics or other third-party traffic analysis tools approved by this competition, along with before-and-after comparison reports to validate the actual results of traffic and trend enhancement.
